The Riches of His Grace

I have been thinking tonight about the great unity we have as believers in Christ.  One of the things I love is that when we put our faith in Christ, we all trusted in the same gospel of grace.

Ephesians 2 says that “…God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ… so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”

I love it.  Tonight, Billy Graham, [insert Christian hero here], and Tim Starn are all clinging to the same truths.

Even in heaven, the great apostle Paul, John Calvin, & Charles Spurgeon and crying out together with us all - “Chief of sinners!”

We join in the chorus of the GREATEST and the least of the saints - who sing, not of how great we are or how far we’ve come, but instead of how great our God is and how mighty HE is to save.

When I step back and think of the kindness of God towards me, I can’t help but be filled with love for my Savior - not because I’m naturally so full of love for God - but only because of his great love toward me first.

1 John 4 - “In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins… We love because he first loved us.”
